Who is First Choice Roofing?

At First Choice Roofing we take pride in great customer service. We offer top-quality residential roofing at competitive prices across Newmarket, Aurora, Bradford and the wider York Region. All of our workers are fully insured and carry WSIB coverage.

The company is owned and operated by Steve and Cindy Tiemersma. Steve was born in the Netherlands in 1968 and moved to Newmarket, Ontario, at the age of seven. He began roofing while still in high school and, after studying Business Administration at Georgian College, established First Choice Roofing in 1991.

Steve does all of his estimates personally and is on site while your work is being completed. Because this is a true family business, there are no miscommunications through a long or unnecessary process. Today the business has grown to include Steve’s son, Gerrit Tiemersma.

A small team, done properly

With fewer than ten employees, we focus on employing industry-leading installers so that things get done properly and nothing is overlooked. We may be small, but we are large enough to handle almost any roofing renovation — cedar, steel, asphalt or designer roofing.
